Eugene Police had engaged them in a brief firefight while attempting to serve a warrant for their leaders, Howard and Tommy Anderson. The conflict ended when a Eugene attorney, Ken Morrow, negotiated with a judge and got permission to bring the two Panthers to City Hall, where he bailed them out and retuned them within one hour. March 1969
