Lake Aldwell and Log Truck 1956

8602-D12. Lake Aldwell was a reservoir that formed behind the Elwha River dam when it was built in 1913. This is how it looked in 1956 when a Port Angeles logging company truck posed beside it for an advertising photo. In 2012, when the dam was removed, the lake drained and the land reverted to forest. Logging truck of Sandberg Logging Co., Port Angeles Washington. 1956
