Portland Airport Dedication Ceremony 1940

1101-F1-01. One of the largest Works Progress Administration projects during Franklin D. Roosevelt’s presidency was the Portland-Columbia Airport, which is now PDX. This photo shows the dedication ceremony on October 13, 1940. United Air Lines DC3 Mainliner. The plane NC25675 was destroyed in a crash on 1/31/1946.
